Re: Cabin
Friends,
It pains me to have to reschedule the cabin weekend until January 2-4. It is not because we are cheating on y’all. It is not financial. Its is because I am a huge dumbass and still in school. I have 3 papers due next week. Luckily, I was given an extension on one of them. However, it means I need this and next weekend to complete it. I know y’all both planned around our original weekend dates. I hope I have I not inconvenienced you, although I know I have. Needless to say I have lost sleep worrying that I have let everyone down.
Please try to join us for the weekend of January 2nd through the 4th. I completely understand if y’all cannot make it, or might not even want to vacation with us, but it would warm my heart if you did.
I love you guys and hope you don’t hate me. Please know that this was all my fault. Alex had nothing to do with it. She has suffered enough, you know, being Jewish and everything. Again, I am sorry.
Best,
Charlie

Hi, and thanks for the offer, but I live in New Jersey and I’m afraid I don’t know you at all! I think maybe you intended to send this to a different Sarah Morgan?

Guess you can add this to the mistaken identity file on your site. I will forward it along. Sorry!
When I saw your website I just about fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard. How long has this been going on for you?

Mistaken Identity: Episodes 76-87

by Sarah Morgan on December 9, 2008

In which Other Mes around the country are sent final exams and photos of school superintendants; are invited to girls’ weekends, 21st birthdays, fashion-jewelry parties, and spas (in both GA and WA - having my name must automatically mean loving a good massage); receive a variety of newsletters; learn about the vocal stylings of Nancy Griffith ; test my French comprehension (an Other Me is applying to be a foreign-language teacher); and are spammed with email chain letters promising free Marks & Spencer vouchers.

A selection of the best are below, but I’m saving number 88 for its own episode. It’s worth it….

Re: John Alan is turning 27!

Hi all,

John’s birthday is this Friday! Help him celebrate becoming an old man by joining us at Genki this Friday at 8:00pm for dinner and saki bombs (followed by Buckhead bars). Please forward this email Ben Q., Neely, Jody and Kim (I don’t have their email addresses)…and to anyone else that I unintentionally left off — the more the merrier!

Let me know if you’re going to be able to make it so I can make reservations. Thanks!
See you this weekend,
Allison

Re: Cookie Lee for Christmas?

Hello there fellow MOPS Mamas! ;-)

You all had expressed an interest in some jewelry and I wanted to let you all know I was closing out
an order in a week. I could easily add anything you all wanted for the holidays. I am doing a special right now of buy two and get the third 1/2 off. Everything is under $50 in the catalog and shipping is only $1 per item. If you click on my webpage it will allow you to view the catalog. The little girl jewelry is on the last few pages. Hope you all are doing well and are having a great weekend!

On Uppers

by Sarah Morgan on December 6, 2008

Hey, incidentally, 16 more posts till I hit 1,000. Think I’ll make it by the end of 2008? And what do I get if I do?

I’ve never been able to understand why anyone needs drugs, legal or illegal, to feel better. And after the day I’ve just had, I can’t imagine that they could be anywhere near as good.

Two of my fabulous friends from work and I participated in a Habitat for Humanity Women Build all day today. We got to spend the day outside in the fresh air and sunshine, warming ourselves up in the freezing cold and getting filthy dirty by hauling buckets of rocks and raking gravel and digging trenches and tarring a foundation. And we got to do it right alongside the amazing woman whose house we were building. It was an absolutely unbelievable experience (even apart from getting mistaken for a high-school student, which would have made my day all by itself). I can’t wait wait to volunteer for Habitat again.

And then I got to go to the hospital and talk to Tracy . And I guess all there is to say about that is - even when one of you is only blinking and nodding and shrugging - two weeks ago that I wasn’t sure whether I would ever have a conversation with my friend again.

I can’t express how much I needed a day like this. I am so, so grateful and happy.
