Pet peeves. I’ve got them, and you’re getting them, with the English language and those who attempt to use it (particularly businesspeople and the stupid, which are not always separate categories):
“Multiple” instead of “some” or “many” or “a few”
“Supposably” instead of “supposedly”
“Liberry” instead of “library”
“Issue” instead of “problem”
“Concern” instead of “problem”
“Ax” instead of “ask”
“Effect” instead of “cause”
“Drive” instead of “cause”
“Preciate it” instead of “thanks” or “I appreciate it”
“Synergy”
“Leverage” as a verb
“Task” as a verb”
“Dialogue” as a verb
“Gray” instead of “grey”
“Important” as used by academics to mean “supposedly impressive”
“Alright” instead of “all right”
