If you’ve ever not liked the way you looked, I think this post – a wonderfully well-written piece on looking back at an old photo – will hit home. I know I’ve had this moment myself. You probably have too.

Moreover, it says something about how wrenchingly hard it is to be an adolescent. I had a lot of great times growing up, but God, I wouldn’t do it again if you paid me.

Before I clicked the link, I thought it was going to be to Jillian’s blog – the post about the club kid photo and how great her makeup was then.

Wow, what a story. That’s nuts.

There is a pic of me that was taken recently. When I first saw it, I thought, “What a whale. I wish this hadn’t been posted on the internet.” But I just looked at it again…it’s not so bad. Yeah, I have a little tummy, but I also have great boobs, great hair, and a smile on my face.

Also, if you can arrange to have someone caught distinctly grabbing their crotch in the background, it tends to detract from whatever flaws you think might have :)

Thanks for making me feel better about myself on a day when I felt like walking in front of a bus because I’m not one of the gazelles in a cute, super-short trapeze dress with kicky matching shoes and bag.

OMG, I swear this is the story of my life. I had a similar experience and I so wish I could go back and do it all over again. But, I guess then I wouldn’t be the snazzy person I am today, right? Glad to know I’m not alone. Thanks for sharing!
