This is a recent New Yorker article on Bush’s new Mission Unaccomplished. Iran. I’d say it’s a scary article, but more accurate would be “scarily familiar.” (I found it via ThisIsNotOver.com – if you don’t mind my politics, you’ll like it.)
To paraphrase: Bush isn’t waiting for diplomacy to change the government of an unstable Middle East nation; he’s steamrolling the efforts of an international governing body; and there’s a fantastically adept terrorist organization just salivating for the chaos.
Because it all worked out so well the last time.
