Sometimes you don’t want to be nice. You’re sore or tired or sick. You’re going through really awful personal stuff. Someone has just been unthinkingly careless or actively nasty to you.

I feel for you. But the problem is, you’re thinking about being nice as a nice thing, and it isn’t. I mean, it IS, but it isn’t just “nice” to be nice.

It’s being a good person. It’s karma. It’s networking. It’s fate. It’s just plain smart.

So even when you don’t want to be nice for anybody else’s sake, do it for your own. If you don’t believe me, check these out too:
