As we tip over into the downhill of 2016, I thought I’d do a quick list of the posts you’ve been reading the most so far this year.
The thing is… it’s a peculiar list. Many of them are old. And quite personal. Is there a glitch in Google Analytics? Are my stalkers super active? Do you just love flamingoes and mustaches and references to Shakespeare and Lewis Carroll that much?
Whatever the reasons, here’s what you’ve been reading, you blessed weirdos. Keep it up.
- The Strength of the Flamingo (2014) A poem for my goddaughter.
- The Audacity of Mustaches (2013) My Tom Selleck revelation.
- Facebook to Blog to New York Times (2009) When I hung with the Grey Lady.
- Is Introvert the New Hipster? (2013) TL;DR: yes.
- Fix Your Whole Life By Stopping Eight Things (2013) What it says on the tin.
- Suggestibility and Being Elitist (2016) Don’t waste time on the wrong people.
- Why Hamilton Matters (2016) Because hamiltrash.
- The Opacity of Digital Living (2016) Is life getting less private or more?
- Balance Is Bullshit (2016) Priorities matter, not balance.
- Saying Goodbye to the Red Queen (2013) Rushing is wasting your time.
- Simple, Not Easy (2016) In which I call you an idiot.
- Was Shakespeare Catholic? (2016) An unpremeditated geek-out.
- Getting Better Slower: Why I’m Okay With It (2015) Cute turtles and statistics.
- The Gauntlet (2016) A quiz! With a sauerkraut confession.
- When Will Big Pharma Become the Underdogs? (2016) TL;DR: soon.
P.S. “Halfway” made me think of this – it’s an A. A. Milne poem, put to music, with my favorite Muppet. It is old and small and wistful and, as with many things I love, I’m not exactly sure why I love it. But I do.
