Want less.
Is that the secret?
Reading J.D. Roth and listening to Alain de Botton, I’m beginning to suspect that it is.
But I’m open to suggestions.
What do you think the secret to happiness is?

Being grateful. It’s easy to lament the things we don’t have, but when we really stop and look to see how much we *do* have, it’s a much different picture. I think it goes hand in hand with the notion of “want less”.
Perhaps I should leave my comment with the correct name, and not a typo in the middle. *sigh*
Totally agree with Elizabeth. I think that happiness comes with contentment. Sounds really boring but when you are content you slow down and get far more pleasure in the small stuff of life. You actually notice a beautiful flower in your garden – you give yourself the time to enjoy it. You kneel down and have a good look and think ‘wow that’s stunning’. You feel happy, you feel alive.
