The other day I was reading this article, which exhorts all bloggers to have a “miscellaneous” category.
If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll have noticed that I have far, far fewer post categories than I once did. About a third as many. Yet one of the ones that stuck around is “miscellaneous”, here christened “serendipity”.
Why? Because miscellaneous happens. That’s why you have a junk drawer in your kitchen. It’s why there’s an “other” category in multiple-choice answers. It’s life.
As organized as you get, don’t hem yourself in. Leave room for serendipity – for the miscellaneous.
