I love tae kwon do and CrossFit – jiu jitsu, yoga, running, hiking, and a bunch of other things too. I love the atmosphere, the people, the skills, the effort. I’m not great at any of them, but they make me happy.

On the other hand, for me, step class is a knee blowout waiting to happen, and spin class is an hour-long butt ache in a dark room. But here’s the thing. I don’t care what other people think of my choices, and I sure hope they don’t care what I think of theirs.

I am so tired of people arguing about workouts. CrossFit is a cult, spin is bad for your back, treadmill isn’t as good as outside, nobody needs long cardio, women shouldn’t lift big, running is too hard on your body, DVD workouts are lame, Curves is useless. Etc.

Does it make you sweat? Does it keep you safe? Does it make you happy? Then who cares? You’re moving, which is sadly a lot more than most of this country. Enjoy what they’re missing, whatever that looks like for you.

Not to sound like a hippie, but Right on! I know everyone has thoughts on everyone else’s workout, but let’s use manners and applaud them being happy.
