It’s launched everything from Twitter to John Mayer, and had speakers from President Barack Obama to Lady Gaga. South by Southwest can be difficult to define, but this annual conference has become a go-to for cultural innovation around the world.

Its tech arm, SXSW Interactive, has grown from a small offshoot of a music festival, to a world-renowned gathering of the biggest and brightest minds in digital technology and media.
